In Search of a Linux System Admin

Job Summary:

********** is looking for an energetic individual to take the position
of Linux System Admin at our San Francisco office. This individual would
be joining a very promising start up company backed by substantial VC
funding.  With stock options available, this opportunity presents a

meet the challenge.

Job Description

1.	Mysql Administation 

	a.	Install, configure and maintain a high availability,
high performance,  mysql database comprising of 5 to 10 nodes 
	b.	Develop, document and maintain processes for automating
routine system tasks 
	c.	Design, deploy and manage a solution to maintain high
availability and high performance on the mysql database 
	d.	Design, deploy, and manage a solution for reliable,
incremental data backup

2.	Linux Administration 

	a.	Install, configure and maintain servers on a network of
10 to 20 machines running linux. 
	b.	Remotely manage all services running on these servers.
Such services may include NFS, FTP, SSH, Apache, Mysql, Memcached, 
	c.	Manage the mail delivery system, including Sendmail,
POSTFIX, Domain Keys, etc 
	d.	Automate routine system tasks and develop processes for
training new employees 
	e.	Lead the process of hiring and training new admins to
grow the team

3.	Monitoring 

	a.	Deploy monitoring systems for all aspects of the system
to ensure high availability 
	b.	Be on call and able to respond to emergency situations  

4.	Development/Documentation/Automation of Processes 

	a.	Develop and maintain documentation for all supported
services and processes 
	b.	Write shell scripts to automate all admin tasks

Job Requirements:

1.	At least 3 years of experience with the Linux OS 
2.	At least 3 to 5 years of experience with command line MySQL 

	a.	Must be familiar with mysql replication, backup
mechanisms, installation and maintenance

3.	Experience with LVS preferred 
4.	Experience with Mail delivery systems: Sendmail, postfix, etc 
5.	Must be eager to learn and able to adapt to a fast-paced,
dynamic environment 
6.	Significant experience managing high traffic websites 
7.	Must have demonstrated leadership quality, as well as a team
player. 
8.	Excellent problem solving skills 
9.	Excellent written and  verbal communication skills
