I am the IT manager at Vindicia and we have an opening for a Linux sys 
admin to be part of the operations team to oversee a large number of 
Linux servers in production, QA and office environments.  The position 
is full-time direct hire and will report to me.  We are a fun bunch and

solutions and credit card fraud prevention tools for internet merchants 
selling digital goods.

Summary: As a member of the growing IT Operations team, this position 
will work closely with other engineers to provide 24/7 support for our 
Internet production operation and our office environment. Our server 
environment consists of 100% Linux systems of various hardware 
configurations and our office users are running a mix of Windows, Linux 
and MacOS workstations and laptops.

Roles and Responsibilities:
. Provide day-to-day configuration, monitoring, support and 
troubleshooting for our production environment at remote data centers -- 
dozens of servers and growing.
. Install and configure new servers with Linux, applications, tools and 
patches.
. Resolve operating systems, application software, hardware and network 
problems.
. Respond quickly to outages as reported via email, telephone, and/or 
paging.
. Adhere to PCI compliance guidelines and SAS 70 operation procedures
. Configure and maintain Windows, Linux and MacOS X workstations.
. Maintain an Asterisk-based PBX/VoIP system

Required Skills:
. Minimum of 2 - 3 years IT experience with at least 1 year of Linux 
administration in a production environment.
. Linux, Windows and MacOS Desktop support experience
. Understanding of Web and Open Source technologies.
. Ability to accomplish multiple projects under minimal supervision.

The following areas of expertise are helpful but are not required for 
this role:
. 1 -- 2 years of network administration experience, with emphasis on 
VPN, fault-tolerant networking and security.
. Datacenter deployment and service experience.
. Systems Administrator-level experience of OpenVPN, OpenSSH, Postfix, 
DNS/BIND, OpenLDAP, Bugzilla, Subversion, LVM, MediaWiki, Argus/Nagios, 
Samba, Iptables and Linux routing.
