Linux Master Of All Trades 

Location: This position is available in Palo Alto, CA and we are open to
telecommuting.

delivering innovative, high-quality, high performance systems software.

Do you like bridging the gap between systems and user level software
development?
Are you a Linux Guru who has experience with everything from networking, file
systems and device drivers to installation, package management, window
managers and Linux user level software?

We are looking for talented and highly-motivated individuals to work on Linux
system development as part of the Virtual Machine group, which is responsible
for the virtual hardware platform (CPU virtualization, device emulation,
guest drivers, etc.) in VMware products.
You will have the opportunity to work on making Linux a better guest and host
operating system for virtualization in general and VMware products in
particular through a wide range of projects, covering the areas of
networking, file systems, installation, configuration, deployment, package
management etc.

Requirements:
Ability to rapidly understand and internalize different Linux sub-systems.
Experience working on several different Linux OS subsystems including
networking, file systems, installation, configuration, package management.
Proven track record with large Linux development projects.
Significant contributions to the Linux/OSS community.
Strong software engineering background with a passion for delivering quality
software.
Must be an excellent hands-on implementer with strong C programming skills.
Strong knowledge of x86 assembly/architecture is also plus.
