Tools Developer - Perl exp.
Salary: to $85K - Direct Hire
San Jose, CA - 
        
This position has responsibilities associated on-going tool development,
system administration, development support, and source code management
for an embedded systems product. Tasks will include:
- Writing scripts for software build and test automation using Perl,
shell scripts, and make files.
- Assisting developers in the proper use and application of the build
and test automation scripts.
- Help support SVN by working in close association with Developers and
System Administrators to diagnose and solve problems.
- Enhance the use of SVN by writing custom tools, instructions, and
documentation specific to the company.
- Configure, support and maintain prototype embedded systems for use in
development and test.
- Act as gatekeeper for the mainline product code.
        
Required skills:
- Extensive knowledge of Linux system administration.
- Extensive knowledge of Perl, shell (bash), and make.
- Experience with cross-development tools for embedded systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Experience with source management systems such as SVN (preferred) or
CVS.
