Job Description

Duties and responsibilities include:

- Application software deployment, monitoring and basic troubleshooting
- Performing routine intermediate-level system administration duties in a
large Linux based
high-availability ASP production environment including server health
monitoring,
troubleshooting and resolution
- Unix server builds and installation including racking and cabling
- General documentation including maintenance plans for application
deployment and hardware
maintenance
- Participating in planning and change control meetings
- Work night-time maintenance windows approximately once a week
- Pager duty for one week approximately once every four weeks

*Requirements:*
Experience and Skills
---------------------
Required:
- A minimum of three years of hands-on Unix system administration experience
in a large,
high-availability Unix or Linux production operations environment

- Thorough understanding of, and familiarity with, Unix system concepts
including file
system layout, users, groups, processes, NFS client setup and
troubleshooting
- Intermediate level proficiency in Unix command line usage and remote
administration
including use of secure remote administration tools
- Intermediate to advanced operating system and hardware troubleshooting
experience and
skills
- Unix server builds and installation including racking and cabling
- Basic knowledge of networking and security concepts and practices
- Experience setting up and managing mail servers such as sendmail, Exhange,
etc.
- Knowledge of standard system administration responsibilities and practices
- Familiarity with industry standard change control and maintenance
procedures and
processes, including use of ticketing systems
- Intermediate office productivity software such as Word and Excel
- Ability to complete complex tasks and projects with a minimum of
supervision
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable team player, quick learner, good written and oral communication
skills


Optional:

- Experience working in a multi-media messaging environment with knowledge
of SMS, MMS,
SMPP technologies
- Unix or Linux certifications
