Technical Support Engineer - Cupertino
Salary - Competitive
Description:
Skills/Experience:
* 3+ years experience providing troubleshooting and support for
large-scale SMP server products or other complex
computing/networking products, preferably in
high-performance-computing space
* 3+ years experience working in a Technical Support organization
(Phones / email / Web), or Technical Sales Support
* Profound, hands on knowledge of *NIX Operating systems, system
administration, setups, tools, etc
* Experience managing OEM partners or Enterprise-level customers
with regards to technical support issues
* Experience working with support/ticket management systems
(case / issue / bug-tracking, etc)
* Experience using/updating a support portal (push out patches and
updates, self-support, FAQs)
* Experience working with debugging and testing equipment and with
R&D engineers
* Proven track record with ability to manage complex caseload to
closure or escalation
* Proven ability to understand customer’s environment, analyze
cases reported, detect the customers attitude, and manage the
situation accordingly
* Must possess the ability to verbally and orally communicate with
internal and external stake holders
* Strong organizational skills, relationship building and
communication skills, and ability to multi-task.
* Good troubleshooting skills required, good hardware technical
skills a plus (assemble servers and do bring-up to
new/experimental hardware/firmware, networking environments,
etc).
Other
Limited travel required (up to 10%).
This is a great opportunity for an FAE that wants to cut back on their
excessive travel and yet remain heavily hands-on.
