Are you looking for a socially meaningful job that uses your technology
skills? Would you like to help build the world's largest accessible
database of scanned books and periodicals for the print disabled?
Benetech has an opportunity for you to apply your web development,
database programming and system knowledge to our data-driven web-based
projects.  

Primary Responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain Benetech's web products and services
- Implement a new, easier to use and easier to maintain web presence for
Benetech programs
- Maintain the defining standard of quality for Bookshare.org's XML
based online book database
- Help project and Tech-Support teams provide assistance to users,
potential users, trainers and partners

The ideal candidate will have:
- Two years or more of experience working on web based application
development
- Languages: PHP4/5, Javascript, XSLT, Unix Scripting
- Experience with relational database programming systems and design
(Mysql, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with XML and XSL transformation
- Experience with client-side Javascript
- Excellent communication skills, detail orientation, creativity, and a
sense of humor
- Enthusiasm about working for a nonprofit, with other highly skilled
software developers
