Senior Software Engineer-San Jose, California


Job Description
2Wire is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the team developing the MediaPortal Set-Top box, which delivers television, video-on-demand, music, and photos to your TV. This position’s focus will be in developing 2Wire’s media platform for the next generation of products. Responsibilities will include software design, development and integration to provide platform level support for new features.

Qualifications
The Senior Software Engineer will be a key technical contributor in developing 2Wire's media platform. This position's primary focus will be the design and implementation of media platform for TV and/or broadband set top boxes. 

  Experience in writing multi threaded applications is a must. 

  Must be comfortable developing applications in C/C++ and Linux (or other Unix-variant OS). 

  Working knowledge on MPEG or related technologies. 

  5+ years of experience working on embedded multimedia-type platforms. 

Desired: 

  Track record of shipping consumer products. 

  Set-Top Box experience. 

  Experience in one or more of the following: PVR, MPEG2/H.264 systems, Graphics, DVB/ATSC, Video/Audio codec, Audio/Video post processing. 

  Windows Media or other streaming media technologies. 

  Networking experience, Ethernet drivers etc. 

  RTOS concepts, Device drivers, DMA mechanism, Interrupt management, Memory management, Locking and buffering schemes. 

  Experience in using make files, GNU tools, debuggers and ICE. 

Education

  BSCS required. 

  MS preferred.
