Senior Software Engineer: Linux/OpenSource
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for driving to new releases of Linux and other
open-source products.
Responsible for maintenance of the tool chain (compiler,
linker, debugger)
Work to migrate Linux and Infoblox product to new hardware
platforms.
Drive the release and installation process of Infoblox product
Work with support to analyze software RMAs.
Drive to improve security of the appliance.
Analyze customer and marketing requests for feasibility, costs
and effort.
Provide input to project schedules and report progress.
Analyze defect reports, provide patches when required.
Write technical specification and internal operation guides.
Provide input for end user manuals as required.
Skills & Requirements:
This is a position that requires strong C coding and
implementation, in addition to design skills. Strong
Linux/Unix systems programming experience is required, as well
as a knowledge of Unix software development tools.
Must have strong knowledge of how to work within the open
source community, to gain the leverage that community provides
in producing the highest quality product for Infoblox.
Must have no fear of diving into areas where individual
experience is limited; the successful applicant must be a
generalist with the ability to work on all facets of the
product.
Fluency in the English language, the ability to write clear
technical specifications, the ability to explain technical
ideas and designs to peers and management, and independent
problem solving abilities are required. The candidate must be
able to work in a team environment, taking project from
specification to end user acceptance. Must have a proven
record of delivering software products.
Experience with networking and web technologies including DNS,
DHCP, RADIUS, and LDAP is a plus. Experience with appliance
technology or embedded systems is a big plus.
Min 8 years software development experience. Four-year degree
in CS, CE, or other technical field such as math, physics or
engineering is required. A graduate degree is preferred.
