on the planet. The Global Deployments Group manages projects in a broad
range of technical areas including hardware, networking, and system
administration across many functional groups and with a worldwide scope. The
Global Deployments Group is the ultimate cross-functional projects group.

We are looking for dynamic professionals to manage our cross-functional
projects. Working with all organizational levels and groups, as well as
external vendors you will develop and manage project schedules, identify
risks and clearly communicate them to project stakeholders, define problem
solving and risk mitigation strategies, and facilitate conflict resolution
through the full project cycle. You will oversee the compilation and
analysis of project activity and will deliver statistical data/reports on a
project's feasibility and progress.

A strong background in IT infrastructure, technology development/deployment
or computing sciences is essential for your success in this position. You
must have a proven track record of project completion that is on time and
within budget. Successful candidates must be able to command the
intellectual respect of Google Engineers as well as run extremely effective
projects on compressed timelines.

Responsibilities:

   - Managing multiple competing cross-functional projects
   simultaneously.
   - Daily interactions with engineers, technicians, project managers and
   senior management.
   - Managing individual projects and running large multi-project
   programs.
   - Running meetings, creating and maintaining timelines, and keeping
   large, diverse groups informed of progress and obstacles.
   - Work with engineers to develop detailed and creative solutions to
   complex problems, while keeping a watchful eye on timelines and costs.
   - Developing and deploying the infrastructure required to bring new
   Google products to the world.

Requirements:

   - BS or MS degree in Computer, or Engineering or a minimum of BA/BS
   and 4 years in an IT-related field.
   - 2+ years of Linux system or network administration.
   - 2+ years of experience with data center infrastructure.
   - 2+ years of technical project management experience.
   - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability
   to work effectively with all organizational levels.
   - Demonstrated skills in requirements gathering, resource
   organization, project/task prioritization and schedule development.

Travel Requirements:

   - This job is based in Mountain View, CA, but may require 25% travel.
