Linux System Software EngineerSalary: $100 - $125K - Direct Hire
Sunnyvale, CA - 
        
Networking startup company is looking for a linux expert to compliment
its engineering team. The candidate must have proven skills in design
and implementation of user space and kernel space software, designing
and implementing drivers and kernel enhancements, multi threaded
programming for embedded multi processor hardware systems, kernel
threads, IPC mechanisms and semaphores, system calls, virtual memory
model, SMP-safe coding techniques. The ideal candidate will also be
knowledgeable and experienced in RPMs and packaging, implementing boot
loader and install scripts. The candidate must have proven skills for
whiteboard discussions and writing detailed design documents. The job
requires knowledge of a variety of processor architectures, busses,
peripheral devices and communication protocols. The qualified candidate
must be able to apply prior knowledge to quickly troubleshoot complex
technical problems. 
        
        REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
        o 5+ Years in Linux
        o 5+ Years in Networking
        o Early Stage Startup Experience
        o Good Track record of estimating and completing development
        tasks on time
        o Linux Device Drivers
        o Linux Socket Programming
        o Proficiency in Linux, C programming 
        o Proficiency in working with coprocessors
        o Proficiency in Appliance Development 
        
        Desired Knowledge/Experience:
        o Security
        o Routing
        o RPMs and packaging, Boot Loaders, Install scripts.
        
        EDUCATION: 
        BS Degree in CS/EE is required. An MS degree in CS/EE is
        desired.
