Position: Software Engineer - Deployment Specialist
Location: San Francisco, CA

Our client is seeking a Systems Administration/IT professional whose
background includes installation and configuration of OS and applications,
and hardware configuration. Experience working with live servers with both
Unix/Linux and WinNT.

In particular, they have a strong preference for people who have built
application server clusters for internet-based applications. For example,
someone who has built out a Weblogic farm for an internet outfit and is
responsible for its support would be rather attractive

The successful candidate will possess experience & knowledge of:

* Java J2EE technology used in large clustered web sites. Specific
experiences include: Server installation, upgrade troubleshooting, and
backup procedures;
* Webserver configuration, J2EE application server and database server.
Understanding of JVM;
* Experience with build and release management for a J2EE Application Server
platform;
* Application layer infrastructure, troubleshooting & web application
deployment.

Additional Requirements:

* Web Savvy - java (or other programming languages), xml, html, http, ftp,
cgi, email and database connectivity;
* Networking experience - TCP/IP, firewalls, proxy servers;
* Experience with Netscape Enterprise Server (iPlanet), IIS and Apache;
* Systems Integration Experience;
* DBA Skills, although not essential to the role it might be helpful in
regards to tuning;
* Client management skills;
* 60-80% travel required.
