Embedded Linux Software Engineer
Salary: Competitive - Direct Hire
Sunnyvale, CA - 
        
Core responsibilities include:
        
* Track, evaluate, and integrate code from the open source community and
from vendors offering embedded Linux software.
* Work closely with both hardware and software teams to design and
develop a platform that meets the needs of our applications. 
* Bring up Linux on new hardware platforms. Adapt/develop device
drivers.
* Contribute to the system architecture and product evolution. 
        
Required Experience:
        
* BS or MS in CS/EE with at least ten years of experience in design,
implementation, and debugging of software in C/C++, including at least
five years of embedded systems experience.
* System bring-up/integration experience. Specific experience developing
and bringing up embedded systems on Linux.
* Linux device driver development experience.
* Experience with networking protocols on Linux (IP, UDP, TCP, ARP,
HTTP, RTP, RPC, SOAP, SNMP)
* In depth knowledge/experience with Linux kernel.
* In-depth knowledge of PPC computer architecture.
* Strong knowledge of Linux development tools
* Strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills in an embedded system.
* Strong written and verbal communications skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other individuals in
groups such as engineering, test, customer advocacy, and product
management. 
        
Preferred Experience:
        
* VoIP or other telephony software development experience.
* Network/system security experience.
        
Education:
        
* BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or a related field is
required. 
* Masters Degrees are preferred.
