Automation and systems testing engineer

Greenplum is revolutionizing the database world and how companies manage
data. Our shared nothing massively paralleled super warehousing and business
intelligence products leverage and synergize open source software and
commodity hardware. We are experiencing rapid growth in sales, partnerships
and a strong following in the open source community. We are in the process
of growing our core development team, and the abovementioned opportunity is
within this team.


Responsibilities include:

    * Review functional specifications and develop test plans
    * Test products and write clear bug reports, with steps to reproduce
bugs as appropriate
    * Work with Engineering and Customer Support to reproduce defects and
provide input to workarounds
    * Verify bug fixes
    * Add tests to the automated test suite
    * Installation and third party tools testing as needed

Requirements:

    * Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Experience with TPCH
queries is a plus
    * College degree in a technical discipline (computer science, math, EE,
science) or equivalent work experience which demonstrates a highly
inquisitive mind and disciplined use of logic
    * Understanding of transaction management and fault tolerance
    * Knowledge of Postgres DBA or comparable database system or ability to
learn Postgres quickly
    * Knowledge of Linux or UNIX systems. System administration background
is a big plus. Mac OSX experience is a plus
    * 4 years QA experience to include a full development cycle of a
commercial product. Senior or Lead QA experience is a plus
    * Experience with test sets like TPCH, NIST, or other standard tests is
a plus to have.
