Performance Engineer


Greenplum is revolutionizing the database world and how companies manage

commodity hardware. We are experiencing rapid growth in sales, partnerships

with this this team.

The Performance Engineer will be responsible for helping our software run as
fast as possible on today's commodity hardware. The ideal candidate will
have a deep passion for performance and getting the last few percent out of
the software, kernel, hardware stack. Responsibilities include path finding
and specifying high-performance commodity hardware platforms as well as
tuning and tweaking existing platforms to increase performance. The
candidate should be experienced in helping to diagnose problems, trying out
new drivers, and specifying and tweaking new kernels.

Requirements

    * Extensive knowledge of computer architecture
    * Experience with RAID configuration
    * Experience tuning Linux and Solaris kernels
    * Experience programming in C
    * Knowledge of Database internals
