Job Title: SR. SOFTWARE ENG - QUALITY ENGINEERING
Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: A senior quality engineer to test OS (linux, 
windows) installation tool and framework for Sun's Opteron based 
enterprise systems. The position involves:

* Developing test strategies and test plans

* Developing and automating testcases using scripting and/or programming 
language

* Rootcausing complex issues found during testing

* Hardware/software installation and configuration

* Co-ordinating work with development and other teams

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Presentations

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

* Strong hands on experience in testing complex systems

* Hands on experience in installing, configuring at least one commerial 
Linux and or unix Operating systems

* Good programming experience in scripting languages (e.g. Perl, shell 
scripts ) and/or C

* Good written and verbal skills

* Developing test strategies and test plans

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:

RedHat and/or SuSE enterprise server software knowledge is a plus

Test development for GUI components is a plus

Testing windows installation is a plus

Exposure to Opteron architecture

This position may vary between a Staff Eng, SW or Sr. Staff Engineer, SW 
(Z-10 or Z-12) depending on the experience of the candidate.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 7+

MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION: BS

FIELD OF STUDY: Computer Science or equivalent

ADDITIONAL COURSE WORK: Software Engineering
