Linux system administrator
Eastridge InfoTech, a leading IT staffing company in the Bay Area seeks an experienced Linux system administrator.  Our client is a leading global provider of licensed video and audio content and needs a new leader, ideally with previous working experience at a large Linux-based ISP or Internet Content Provider, to support two fast growing websites. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

 

The Direct hire position is located in Redwood Shores. Company provides very good employee benefits such as 

 

Primary responsibilities include:

1) Overall system architecture design and deployment; 

2) Intel-hardware based Linux server installation, deployment, and upgrade; 

3) Load balancing, security, network storage solutions; 

4) Perl scripting and other daily maintenance; 

5) on-call duties

 

The requirements include:

1)            Excellent knowledge of server hardware (Intel PC style platform).

2)            Minimum 3+ years hands-on Linux (Debian or Redhat preferred or equivalent) experience including system setup, configuration, and administration.

3)         Good knowledge on load balancing and network storage solution.

4)         High level of expertise with web server and tomcat, and database (mySQL, postgrSQL).

5)         Some level of expertise with Shell script, Perl or C, and Windows OS.

6)         Ability to write Linux scripts.

7)            Outstanding problem-solving skills.

8)                 A Responsible, proactive and hardworking team player.
