I'm a recruiter at VMware, an EMC company, headquartered in Palo Alto,
California. We are building up our R&D software team with projects in the
area of Networking, Storage, Graphics, USB, Sound, Mouse and Keyboard. We
are looking to add/hire several highly technical developers. VMware is
virtualization software that allows you to run multiple operating systems at
the same time. VMware generated more than $218 million in revenues last year
and became one of the word's fastest growing software businesses.

We are looking to identify strong Linux, UNIX or Windows Kernel developers.
We are also looking for an X11/X server Graphics developer. These positions
require strong OS internals knowledge/experience with Linux, UNIX or Windows.
These are truly unique opportunities as you would be developing completely
new technology.

Below are the teams I support within R&D's Hosted Solutions group here at

1) Interactive Devices Team

The Interactive Devices Team is responsible for the virtualization of the
keyboard, mouse, display (2D and 3D), sound and the USB controller. This
group supports the Workstation and GSX hosted products as well as the ESX and
VC product line.

2) Non-Interactive Devices

The Non-Interactive Devices team creates software that emulates native
devices for all of VMware's products, especially those products that run on a
hosted operating system such as Workstation and GSX. Our focus is on storage
and networking, and our mission is to sustain VMware's lead in best-in-class
device emulation through innovative features, near-native performance, and
strategic support of new classes of devices.

3) Platform Tools Team

The Platform tools team's mission is to extend VMware's virtual
infrastructure through better guest OS Tools & provide enterprise-level
cross-product installation and licensing.

4) Platform Infrastructure

The Platform Infrastructure subgroup is tasked with owning interfaces with
the virtual machine monitor, device emulation, Linux and windows kernels, as
well as chipset and other low-level virtualization. Also providing OS
independent systems abstractions such as threading primitives, locking models
and memory management also fall into this area.

We recognize and appreciate the importance of peer referrals. Please pass
this to anyone working in this area; VMWare would be extremely pleased to
discuss the unique development projects we are working on.
