Yahoo! is looking for BIND/DNS Architect.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for one of the most critical parts
of Yahoo!'s Infrastructure - BIND and DNS. The successful candidate will
have expert knowledge of how BIND and DNS works, how DNS affects
performance, how DNS clients resolve queries and must have experience with
modifying DNS code. A deep understanding of TCP/UDP/ICMP protocols, security
issues like IDS systems and DOS attack counter measures and Unix
(BSD/Solaris/Linux) is a pre-requisite for the position. The candidate will
be expected to administer Yahoo!'s top level SOA and domain, delegation to
children domains and handle the diverse needs of both the IT and production
environment. This position requires extensive communication and
participation with external private and government agencies and work groups.


Skills/Experience required include: 

 

*	7+ years of experience working with BIND, 5+ years of experience
working in a Unix environment, Experience with Load Balancing systems
(Alteon, DNS, Akamai) in DSR and "in-line" modes
*	Experience with Unix Kernel debugging and tuning is a plus. 
*	Experience with PC and Solaris hardware is desired. 
*	Experience with firewalls, including ACL's. 
*	Experience in Shell scripting, Perl and C languages. 
*	Ability to quickly identify and solve problems in a fast paced
environment. 
*	Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively
communicate technical issues. 
*	Work in a group setting by contributing to the overall success of
the team. 
*	Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate on-call rotations. 
*	Project oriented with the ability to drive efforts to achieve goals
and deadlines. 
*	Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
*	BS EE/CS degree from four year college or university or equivalent
years of relevant experience.
