immediate opening in our group for a senior software engineer as

Senior Software Engineer 
 
Location:  Fremont , CA 
Duration:  Regular Full Time  

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is for a member of an instrument development team who will
focus on designing, developing, and delivering the data acquisition and
control portion of an instrument. Significant interaction with engineers
and scientists from other disciplines will be required.

Responsibilities include design and implementation of software from the
firmware level, through the driver level, and into the application. 

 
REQUIREMENTS:
* BS/MS in computer science, software engineering, electrical
engineering, mathematics or a related field. 
* Strong OO design and C++ development skills.
* Strong system, design, coding, and communication skills.
* Linux system programming including asynchronous I/O.
* Experience developing data acquisition software for instrumentation.
* Experience in algorithm development.
* Demonstrated experience interfacing with electronic hardware at the
device level including some ability to understand schematics. 
* Demonstrated ability to complete full-cycle development projects, from
conception to maintenance.
* Minimum 3-5 years development experience in the areas listed above. 

Additional Desired Skills 

* Experience writing Linux device drivers (preferably for PLX I/O
devices).
* Firmware for 8051 in assembly and C.
* Driver development using the PLX SDK.
* Experience developing applications on Linux.
* Experience programming in Java.
