We are an exciting software development and services company providing
leading edge technology products for major media and entertainment
companies. Our customers are industry leaders who recognize the value of

digital broadcast, post production, management and workflow technology for
the media industry. Our worldwide customer base includes a broad range of
major news companies, cable and satellite TV operators, and TV and Radio
networks.

This contract to hire position, preferably based in NYC.  We will also be
considering candidates based near our other offices in Atlanta, San
Francisco or Burbank.

BBC Technology is setting up a delivery capability for its Colledia suite of
products.  Although this role is initially aimed at delivering Colledia for
Production, the post holder may be required to join deployments of other
products or custom solutions for clients in the Media / Broadcast space.

Hence, the post holder will be part of a team supporting the delivery of
Colledia for Production or other product deployment or software development
or projects for both the BBC and other broadcasters.

KEY responsibilities

1. Set up, configure and maintain physical network devices.   This covers
hubs, switches, routers and cable infrastructure.

2. Build, configure and manage Windows 2000/2003 servers in domain and
workgroup configurations.  This will also include building, configuring and
managing SQL Server 2000 systems and web/streaming systems

3. Assisting with the set-up and configuration of SAN storage systems, HSM
and backup systems

4. Carry out or supervise all installation work associated with Colledia or
Custom deployments

5. Assist in setting up and maintaining video ingest systems and associated
broadcast technology infrastructure.

6. Maintain full configuration records of any work done during installation
or on installed systems

10. Contribute to system design, bids and sales/pre-sales activities as
necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

1. 2 years' experience in daily management of an IT Infrastructure - LAN &
servers

2. Expert knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems to MCP level and
similar expertise with Ethernet network hubs, switches and routers.  Expert
knowledge of MSSQL 2000 highly desirable as would a familiarity with other
commercial and open source DBMS.

3. Must have previous or current experience as a Unix System Administrator
e.g. Linux, IBM AIX. Familiarity with Microsoft desktop operating systems
and non Microsoft server and desktop O/S such as Mac OS.

4. Direct experience of troubleshooting and repairing complex IT systems

5. Qualified broadcast engineer with relevant knowledge and experience of
vision, sound, communications and computer systems as they relate to the
Broadcast Technology environment.

6. Able to relate to customers, to establish confident control whilst
rectifying faults, gathering requirements and conducting project work.

7. A willingness to travel within the US and overseas as necessary
